New York Giants announce 2024 preseason schedule

The New York Giants announced their 2024 regular season schedule on Wednesday, including a trip to Germany and a Thanksgiving Day game against the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to the regular season schedule, the Giants also announced their 2024 preseason schedule (excluding dates and times for two of the games).

  • Week 1: vs. Detroit Lions
  • Week 2: at the Houston Texans (Saturday, August 17, 1:00 p.m. ET)
  • Week 3: at the New York Jets

While not confirmed, the Giants will likely have joint workouts with the Lions ahead of their preseason game in Week 1.

“It’s not set in stone,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell said, via the Detroit Free Press. “Because I said that last year and I know Mr. (John) Mara came at me and said, ‘Hey, this thing’s already out.’ So there is a chance. I don’t know if it’s going to get done or not, but we talked about it just because we wanted to reciprocate for them coming to us, we wanted to give it to them.”

The Giants visited Allen Park last year for two joint practices before a preseason game at Ford Field. This time, Campbell suggests, the exercises would take place in East Rutherford.

The Giants could also hold joint workouts with the Jets, something that was attempted in 2022 before being scrapped. Since they don’t play each other during the regular season, this could be revisited this year.
