False bomb threat on Delhi-Vadodara flight triggers panic at IGI airport

Delhi: An alarming situation arose while boarding Air India’s Delhi-Vadodara flight at Delhi’s IGI airport on Wednesday evening when a crew member found a tissue paper with ‘bomb’ written on it in the washroom of the aircraft, police said today . After the tissue was discovered Wednesday evening, authorities conducted a search of the flight. However, no suspicious objects were found and the plane was cleared to take off, a police officer explained.

While the plane was ready to take off, a crew member noticed the tissue paper at 7 p.m. Both the Central Industrial Security Force and Delhi Police were informed about the situation and passengers were asked to disembark from the aircraft. A thorough inspection of the aircraft was then carried out, which did not reveal any concerning results. The passengers were later accommodated on another flight for their onward journey.
