Latest Information on Saving Vermilion River Rafters | 103.9 WLPO

Within five minutes, a rafting trip on the Vermilion River for three women turned into a rescue call on the river.

The ladies were thrown from their raft early Wednesday afternoon after they say they became stuck in a log near Lowell. Two rafters managed to reach an island while the third got stuck in some rapids. Ultimately, all three rafters, who are from Chicago and Berwyn, were brought to safety and examined by first responders. All three signed a refusal of further treatment.

The Vermilion River has risen about six feet since Monday afternoon.
