Tonight Tony told The Irish Sun he was “fine now” and praised the medical care he received as “the best ever”.

Tonight on Instagram he posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed wearing hospital pajamas and said: “Thanks to the cardio team Hermitage.”

“Heart attack in the morning, stent in the afternoon, sweet and sour chicken in the evening.”

“See you later, idiots.”

He accompanied the post with the song “I’m Feelin’ It” by Sunset Bros and Mark McCabe.

According to US showbiz site TMZ, Conor was one of several relatives who accompanied Tony at his hospital bedside today.

He is expected to be released sometime this evening.

The news comes as Conor prepares to return to the Octagon next month to fight Michael Chandler.

Inside McGregor’s infamous lifestyle

With more facets to his personality than an Octagon, Conor McGregor’s rise has been a fascinating one to watch.

The former two-division champion will make his long-awaited cage comeback in the main event of UFC 303 in Las Vegas.

The 35-year-old Irishman has not stepped foot in the octagon since breaking his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

McGregor underwent a long and strenuous rehab to recover from the broken tibia and fibula he sustained in the Sin City showdown.

Dad Tony posed for photos with his family at the UK film premiere of Road House last month. Conor plays the lead role in the film.

Viral reaction

Tony himself went viral during Ireland’s Rugby World Cup exploits after leaving fans guessing whether he was attending a crucial game against South Africa.

Viewers were distracted when a Boys in Green fan appeared on the big screen during the game, bearing an uncanny resemblance to the viral Coinage star.

But speaking exclusively to the Irish Sun from his home in Dublin last September, former taxi driver Tony provided a picture and confirmed that the accidental audience member was “a fraudster”.

He laughed: “I can confirm that I am watching the game at home.”

Heartbreak in the family

There was also great heartache for the McGregor family last year after Tony announced in June that Conor’s aunt Pamela had passed away.

He wrote: “It is with deep regret that I announce the passing of my beloved sister Pamela on June 25, 2023. Rest in peace.”
