In a shocking revelation, Nigerian troops have discovered members of the dreaded terrorist group Boko Haram via Starlink, billionaire Elon Musk’s satellite internet service, in Sambisa Forest. The discovery was made as part of a successful operation that resulted in the killing of a top Boko Haram commander, Tahir Baga, and the recovery of various weapons and digital devices, including Starlink Wi-Fi systems and cell phones.

According to counterinsurgency expert and security analyst Zagazola Makama, Nigerian troops seized the items as part of “Operation Hadin Kai” after the terrorists fled and could not withstand the military’s firepower. The terrorist group’s use of Starlink, a cutting-edge and expensive technology, has raised concerns about its increasing sophistication and access to advanced resources.

The news sparked widespread reactions among Nigerians on social media. Many expressed shock and concern about the impact of this development. Some users questioned how the terrorists obtained the Starlink devices, while others called for a thorough investigation into the supply chain and potential accomplices.

“With proper investigation, you might be shocked that the provider is using this app,” tweeted @Bin_DaudNG, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive investigation.

Others stressed the importance of tracing the purchase and the people involved, suggesting that the Nigerian Intelligence Service (NIS) should investigate suspicious activities related to the purchase of solar panels, batteries and other equipment in areas such as Oshodi and Maiduguri.
